Reading Notes A, The Hind

Week 6 Reading Notes:

The Hind  A son and a slave who got transformed into cows by a woman. They had a feast and the king needed a cow, so the servant brought him the cow who was actually the slave. The king showed mercy and couldn't kill it, so he had the merchant do it, but the cow was empty inside. They brought in another cow who was actually the son. The king looked into his eyes and showed mercy, and told the servant to take great care of that cow. 
Then a girl told the king that she was magical and she knew that the woman transformed his son into the cow and she will change him back as long as she can marry him. 

If I were to rewrite this story, I would recreate it using different characters that gave a more magical and mysterious ideology. Maybe incorporate some mythical creatures and a different setting than the original. I do like the storyline of the original, so I would keep that same idea.

Robin Hood and the Ranger The stories from the British origin are interesting and unique. I read the Robin hood section, which consisted of many poem-like writings. The story I read was called Robin Hood and the Ranger. It was a unique story about hunting and had a fun rhyming sense to it. If I were to rewrite this story, I would keep the theme of the poem structure, and the subject of the hunt, but change the purpose. the characters, and the motives. Storytelling - week 15

The Hardworking Man There was once a man who worked in the oilfield. He worked all day and all night and earned so much money that his boss began to resent him. "You are working too much, and now I have to give you all my money," he said. He scolded the man and made him move to a different rig where he did not have to pay him for his hard work. A company man heard about the hard working man, and sought after him. He respected the man for his hard work and offered him a job on his site. He told the man that if he worked non stop for the next three years, he will receive his own company. The man agreed. The man knew the struggles he may face while working non-stop.
